How To Think Positive Thoughts

how to think positive thoughtsIf you want to learn how to think positive thoughts,  know that a positive attitude towards life is earned by optimistic people, and if you can choose between “think wrong and you will succeed” or think well, the latter is best for us. Being more positive helps us overcome stress better and experience more enjoyable experiences throughout the day. Besides, are those who think negative always necessarily right?

The positive attitude develops over time as you learn how to think positive thoughts, taking a series of guidelines that progressively generate a form of thinking and interpreting reality. A pessimist cannot change the style of thinking overnight, because he or she lacks the necessary tools to see reality from another perspective.

When people become more optimistic it does involve a lengthy process depending on the state in which we find ourselves, equivalent, for example, to shape the body with exercise. It requires consistency and confidence that the change will result in our well-being.

Look at some strategies that are part of the process of building a positive attitude towards life:

Recognize negative thoughts. We refer to those as thoughts that are harmful or irrational. Especially when we are stressed, it can “become automatic” without us being aware that we look at the reality in a biased manner. That is, without looking at the other side of the coin: the good side of the situation as most of the times it exists and it’s there.

If you want to learn how to think positive thoughts, you must stop negative thoughts as much as possible. We have said that they are irrational. There is no logic in them. “I’m a mess. I’m always wrong at the worst time. Never have the right to, I can’t do this or do that because this and that or so and so. It is “Not a bad idea to begin reducing the use of adverbs such as” always “or” never “and stop analyzing reality in terms of” all “or” nothing “. Lets stay away from the extremes.

Anticipation. A pessimistic person starts to live with stress before it takes over on any given situation more naturally, and as you can see, this is not good. Certainly, we all have things in perspective that we generate insecurity, but … why should we feel anxious and feel fear in advance? When you think about a difficult situation that is coming, it is preferable to contemplate ourselves in it unfolding in a positive way. Examples: exams, job interviews, dating, travel, business meetings, etc. There are hundreds of changes throughout our lives. Isn’t it worth the effort to get used to living without fear?

Giving more importance to the positive. An optimistic person is aware of the drawbacks or problems, but try to focus on the benefits and solutions.

Self-assessed. Each person has intrinsic value only. Knowing one’s value and be proud of it is a spring of constructive and optimistic thoughts  as they start to sprout.

Positive verbalizations. The power of language is tremendous. We must be careful what we say, because our brain is always listening and it is customary to think along those words we hear. When we refer to ourselves we must start from the idea that we’re talking about someone who would have a lot of love.

To learn how to think positive thoughts is not like flipping a switch and move on. It is learned with time, with your successes and failures. But to make the best of this type of mind-conditioning, it is never too late to undertake it.

So what inspired me to develop the What I Am Good For website you may ask? Now before I tell you, I would like to say that I am an ordinary person just like you. I go to work, I come home and eat, watch some TV, maybe do some stuff in between the week, go out on the weekends when I can, and do a little reading, even though I hated reading just a couple years ago–but well this is part of another story I will tell later. The other more significant part of me is that just like you and everyone else for that matter, I have problems, and before I discovered the power of positive thinking I have gone through varying degrees of difficulties in my life as well. From becoming a young father, to difficulties with my education, relationship issues, financial problems, job loss, depression, the list goes on. Does Positive Thinking Really Make You Feel Well?

There must be a deep connection between the body and mind, I know this concept may be divided between the people, but let me tell you a real story from personal experience that included positive thinking and a little belief…My son was not doing so good on his math last year, to the point that he was feeling down, in fact he was very discouraged that he kept on doing bad and getting lower grades. This particular time he was worried as he was going to do a test. I decided to try a little experiment in which I pulled out a piece of quartz rock and told him that this rock had something special, I told him it would allow him to concentrate and do so much better in his coming test. To his and my surprise as I picked him up from school he was very happy and excited telling me that the rock had worked wonders and he did in fact had concentrated so good and felt he did very good on the test.
